In my eyes,
it’s never too early to start
thinking about the Christmas
holidays. This year is no
different, although this year
Christmas decorations were out
before Halloween. Even that’s a
stretch for me.
The Postal Service wants
everyone to have joyous
holidays, and has issued a
notice suggesting the last day
to mail to ensure holiday cards
and packages are delivered by
December 25, 2007. The following
are based on the class of mail:
Domestic Mail Class
First-Class Mail
Priority Mail
Express Mail
Parcel Post
DBMC Drop Ship
DDU Drop Ship |
Date
December 20
December 20
December 22
December 15
December 20 (at the
destination BMC)
December 21 (at the
local DDU) |
The nice thing
is the Postal Service listed DDU
and DBMC dates for Standard
Mail. DSCF was not posted, but I
would suspect December 20 at the
destination SCF would be
appropriate.
Keep in mind, during the
holidays, First-Class letters
and cards, Priority Mail and
Express Mail are processed
before all other classes of
mail. December 17th is
anticipated to be the top volume
day for consumer holiday mail
this year.
