Today, the
USPS published a final ruling on
upcoming requirements for MOVE
UPDATE & CASS Qualifications.
MOVE UPDATE:
Current mandatory standards -
only for First-Class mail –
Perform move update every 185
days (twice a year)
Effective November 23, 2008 –
(13 months from now)
Move update must be performed
every 95 days (4x per year)
Move update will also become
mandatory for ALL Standard Mail
(regular & nonprofit, flats,
letters & parcels)

CASS Changes –
With CASS cycle ‘L’ – August 1,
2007 – Delivery Point Validation
(DPV) and Locatable Address
Conversion System (LACSlink)
became mandatory to claim
barcode discounts. DPV verifies
the last 2 digits of a street
address to verify it is a
deliverable address. CASS
currently has to be done twice a
year.
With CASS Cycle ‘M’ – August 1,
2008 – Suite Validation (SUITElink)
becomes mandatory to verify the
secondary address also exists.
CASS will be required every 95
days (4x per year)
